Under 21 - Under 25 Years Rental Car Hire New Zealand
If your under 21 or 25 years of age and wish to hire a rental car in New Zealand then you need to be aware of the following conditions that all rental car companies insist on.
Firstly you must be over the age of 18 and hold a full drivers license that is valid to drive a car or campervan in New Zealand. Your home country drivers license will suffice however holding a valid international drivers license is better. Secondly please be aware that most car hire companies in New Zealand will charge a daily surcharge on top of the daily hire rate. An example would be an extra NZ$8 per day for a one week rental. Finally in some cases you may not be able to reduce the insurance excess on the vehicle because you are under 25. You may wish to arrange rental car insurance with a separate provider before you leave your own country. To find out which rental car companies will hire cars to under 21 and 25 drivers do a quick search through our booking engine. |
